Leaving

What was left to do now?

She had to think really fast for she had little time and all had to been cleaned up...She had planned every step, every detail to take care of.And yet she was now paralysed, lost in her mind, blocked by a strange feeling for her heart: she was frightened...This had prooven to be far more difficult than she had ever considered. After all those hours spent on wishing and planning this moment seemed know worthless for she had stopped herself. First time wasn't that easy. Now that she had dared doing it she was to abandon her parents house forever.
Finally she moved. She walked across the room and took her coat. It was to leave the holy place that she once desired to call home. That room that had been full of colors, sounds ands smells was now deathly silent with only old memories to haunt that empty place. She glared at center of the room one last time. It was finished, all was clean. She took a white envelop from her pocket and softly put it on the dark brown dinner table.
And then she opened the door and ran away from the house and the phantoms of her memories.
The dirt path was cold and full of holes, the rain thundered down the way, converting earth to mud, like condensed feelings and fears turn to tears. Altough the way was hard to do she could not stop, now that her fugitive run had began, adrenalin had filled her vision with fog and her heart with crasy pulsing rytm, suddenly she slipped on a small rock and fell harshly in the the muddy ground...Her head ached so much that for minutes she couldn't even stand up...the pain was so strong that she stopped making efforts to move and left her vain tries. A torrent of liquid mud was blowing on her long beautiful dark hair and her angel-like face was imerged in that dirty fluid. After moments of imobility she erupted in tears, possesed by her urging sadness. Why?
Why had she done that? She felt horribly guilty...

-Stop crying and get up...this is no time to surender to weakness...come on...I know you have the strengh to fulfill your quest.-said a deep reassuring voice.she raised her head and saw the man giving her his hand.
-But...but...I feel so alone...I didn't want to do this...I never meant to...I didn't wan't to but I did it and..and...I'm so sorry...
-Come on Sarah...there's nothing you can do know...it's done...it's over...there's no turning back...
-I know...but I love them so much...why do I had to leave them??? I have no strengh to go on...I can't...I feel so cold..
He suddenly got down to his knees and hugged her. She dropped to tears again sobbing even strongly and grabbed him with all her strengh.
He waited a while to let her calm down and then softly whispered at her ear:
-I know you can carry on, don't worry I'll always be here for you my dear- He gently passed his hand on her wet but still surprisingly gracious hair.
-I'm here my love. Nothing can harm you know. You're safe.- And in his arms, the fatigued girl fell asleep. Now she was resting and her perfect face had no more worries or fears. She was in peace.
Some hours later she woke up. The morning was raising. She looked around. He had gone!
-You promised you'd never leave! You promised!- She cried and then started to sob again- I want to die...
-But I am here my dear!- She oppened her eyes and there he was. She stopped crying and stood up to kiss him.
-I was so afraid...I though you had left me again...promise that you'll stay again...I need your words...I need you- she murmured
-I'll always be here to guide you my dear...Our way is a hard one but I'll lead you. Now it's time to go. Pick up your bag and let's go.
-But we haven't eat anything...and I feel so tired...
-Are you questioning what I'm telling you? We have to leave and we have to do it know. You know they'll come for us. We have to be as far as possible.
-I never doubted you...you know I'm yours but do you really think this is all necessary? What I did yesterday was so hard to me...I still did it because you told me to...but...it was so hard to hurt my parents that much...
-Are you thinking of droping off? We had planned together you know it was the only way of getting us freedom...
-Yes...but still...I feel frozen, I feel sad...
-I told you a difficult way lied before us...but don't worry... we have each other.
-I know...but that night was the most horrible night I' ve ever passed...it was a true nightmare...and you weren't there when I left...If you had seen that empty silent room like I did you...you wouldn't have the courage to leave it. You would stay there and cry instead of running away...
-I know it has been tough for you but now we have a future, for us, us alone and no more obstacles!
-Yes...but
-Enough my love...still your tongue...think about something else...think about me...think how happy we'll be now...from now on I'll never have to leave alone again.

Suddenly they heard a noise. Maybe it was the police set to find them. They didn't move, cold as rock Sarah slowly closed her eyes and prayed that all pain stopped. She prayed holding her hands together with ferving faith- Please Lord tell me it's not them please, I beg you-
In silence they held they're breathes of fear, with the cold sweat of expectation. She oppened her eyes and saw the boy still standing in the same position. He was waiting for a sign.
-I think it's okay know...come, it was propably just a rabbit
-Are you sure? -she grumbled terrified
-Yes my love. Come now.
She rose and looked around. In the distance there was a shape...it was a...a man.
No!- she shouted in horror and then there was nor the man or her love or the sun. The darkness had returned. She was in peace.

As soon as the man saw her falling he ran to her aid. Who was that girl speaking alone in the middle of the dirt path? And why was she hiding from him? When he got to her he understood she had fainted, in an attempt of helping her, he took her hand and before saying anything he yelled in horror. Her hand was drenched in blood. Panicly he called the hospital and asked for an ambumlance. Then he tried to see where she was bleeding from. He took off her coat and looked for a red bleeding cut in her flesh. But he didn't discover anything...she didn't had a scratch...he suddenly understood and rapidly made another phonecall.
Minutes later the police was there. After asking about fifteen questions to the man they finally went to see her.
When they got the her she was waking up, as soon as she saw them she looked around and started crying
-Why did you left? You had promised me!- Then she grabbed her hair and pulled it as if to rip it off.
-What a poor woman- grumbled officer Miles with compassion.
-I've called the headquarters. There's no doubt. She's the one who shot the Griffin couple last night.
